V is For Valentine's Day

We are halfway through the first month in 2010, and can you believe it, Valentine's Day is nearly here...and we are currently working on a Red Velvet Tea Party. What comes to mind when I think of V Day is: deeps reds, plums, cherries, black silk, mocha, silks, velvet, vintage lace, pearls, diamant├ęs, damask patterns, sexy polka dots, red velvet cake, dark chocolate, pink champagne, scented candles, candelabras, deep red roses, silky lingerie, strawberries, laughter, passion, appreciation...your colour palette and style inspiration is what you make it.

In today's DIY lifestyle, why not create your own Valentine's Day event in your own home, be it for your beloved, for your gals, or even family. Valentine's day celebrates love and love is limitless! Remember our 5 senses always come into play when planning any event:
Smell- what scents will you use in the room?
Hear - what sounds will you use to create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere?
Touch - soft furnishing and silky fabrics, how will this feel on their skin?
Taste - aroma, colour, food flavours, all these should complement your setup.
See - sums up all of the above. Your colours, use of different shapes, sounds, aromas and choice of materials is what creates and delivers your unique and personal interpretation of Valentine's Day.
